... that will enable young learners to reach their full educational and personal potential.
This will help them to become self-confident and respectful world citizens.
We all care deeply about each of the children that we have the privilege of working with, and it is that bond that drives us to do everything that we can to ensure that each child obtains a love of learning that will contribute to his or her later successes.
Bart De Roeck, headmaster of the International School of Leuven
"Moving is always challenging, especially to a new country. Our children were rather anxious, especially about where they would be going to school. We want to thank ISL for helping to make this difficult time so wonderful for our children. From their very first day at ISL, they felt at "home."
The teachers are so nurturing and the children are accepting and caring. They look forward to going to school each day and playing with their new friends.
Thank you ISL for being such a positive part of our new adventure here in Leuven."

WHERE YOU CAN FIND US
LEUVEN is a vibrant city with a rich history and a lively multi-cultural atmosphere. The city is surrounded by charming small villages, woods and nature.
ISL is located only 20 km away from Brussels. Our school is easily accessible by public transport and very close to the E40 highway.
We want to value the languages and culture of Belgium as a learning resource.
We strive for an enriching working and living relationship with the staff and pupils of our local Flemish partner school.
We also aim to develop a sense of students’ own nationalities and cultures, at the same time growing a profound respect for the nationalities and cultures of others.
We offer our children a variety of activities, which give them the opportunity to broaden their imagination and to encourage creativity.
That’s what drives us, every day.
The International Primary Curriculum (IPC):
a combination of academic, personal and international learning.
We chose to work with the IPC-curriculum because it places emphasis on children’s development, teaching them the skills they need to become
21st century learners.
The IPC is taught in schools around the world.
It will assist children to acquire a critical understanding of their own cultures and other cultures in a way that promotes harmony.

Students are given the opportunity to develop the skills they need for life and are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning. Take a look into the ISL world:
The original Americans considered the hummingbird also as a symbol for concentration, survey and truth.
By portraying the bird in an origamic way -folding and unfolding- we give our school an extra dimension of creativity and inspiration.
